What We're Looking For

The Director of Advocacy is one of the key pillars in EJC’s mission as their work is  to advocate for the toolkits and the policies the corresponding Policy Team writes through emails, meetings with notable legislators, phone banking, Zoom panels, and Zoom town halls. They will also reach out to local, state, national, and international organizations and communities that are directly impacted by the issue the Policy team’s legislation is solving.


Responsibilities

  • Organize and set up meetings with notable legislators
  • Curating communities, organizations, and legislators to contact
  • Conducting preliminary research on the topic and policy proposed by the Policy team
  • Conducting preliminary research on the topic and policy proposed by the Policy team
  • Lead Zoom town halls, Zoom panels, and phone/text/email banks

  • Sample Projects

  • Email Senators and House Representatives about the Toolkit and/or Policy Team’s Work
  • Working with the Graphic Design and Social Media Team to put out graphics on EJC’s social media
  • Leading Town Halls and Panels to inform the general public about the Policy Team’s work

  • Eligibility

  • Proficiency in writing and research
  • Prior experience in leadership, policy making, and political advocacy
  • Strong communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills
  • Diligent and thorough
  • Able to commit 7+ hours/week
